Self Examination

Another love-ly day!
We talked at school today about sacrificial love. Returning evil with good. It's amazing how discussions about real issues like this can go on for a very, very long time. We ended up thinking about three loving things we can do for people we don't get along with.
It's easy to make it all about the children. After all, there are always relationship issues among them - dirty looks, unkind words, hitting, tripping, and all manner of evilness. And they have no problem admitting to revenge. "He did it first!" But what about my relationships? It's easy for me to walk out of the classroom after a discussion about love, and then see a parent I don't approve of or a colleague I'm frustrated with. How am I extending love to other people?
Things to ponder....

On another note, we had an unexpected snowfall in the school neighbourhood. It's amazing how 3 cm of cold white flakes can cause such trouble on the road after all the snow we had in December. It took me an hour and ten minutes to get to school!

Funny how the start of a school year seems to bring up this issue here. Very topical at the moment! Any tips gratefully appreciated.
