Distant Memories

Just one month ago, I was on holiday.
Sigh...
It was really beautiful.
We camped on the Oregon coast, right by the beach, in our old favourite Nehalem Bay State Park. Did I mention that we were by the ocean??
It wasn't warm; in fact, the day we arrived, the temperature on the coast was 20 degrees cooler than it was inland! But the salt air, the sand, and the waves made up for having to wear jackets.
Now that school has started and life is wild and crazy again, I would really like to be back there.

It nourishes my soul.

Mmmmhmmm. I was going to spout forth wisdom about diarising a weekend away soon at the beach....but then I realised that the weather must be getting a little cooler at your end these days. Hmmmm - maybe a weekend away at a Hot Spa somewhere then? Harrison Lake?? xo

Andrea,
I was so hoping to see the girl dancing on the beach....it's incredible. Thanks for sharing all your pictures with me the other night. I thought the one of the boy on the large rock in the schoolyard was exceptional too. I'm inspired!

Our son and his wife just got home from a vacation along the West Coast and are ready to go back again. They loved it but did mention the cooler, wetter weather. I'm sure summer vacations seem like light years ago!
